    kick your own ass 

    Heh.. i’ve had a total of 6 hour of sleep in the last two days. I’m feeling better though, i feel like i need to be kicking my own ass more lately.

    The URI commercial drops are a piece of cake now, i finsihed two in 4 hours tuesday. Newport mansions ramtour drop is playing right now, and the mystic drop will be airing by monday. This job i have is such a joke…

    Web design is good, DW is ready to cut me a check, south county pediatrics signed on for another year, Montessori dropped off the map again, and Syko Rekordz is in the final stages. For syko WE went back and redid the main table layouts whic h is a pain in the ass from a design standpoint. We’ve put in a lot of work in this project, we’re looking at this like work experience, because the profit won’t be able to fully out-weigh the cost this time around. We’re looking at this thing in a long term though… pay your dues, you get props(profits?). I’m estimating we’ll see about a grand each when all is said and done.

    Mike and I talked to Monty last night in providence… i said to mike and monty last night ‘in a couple of years, we’re gonna look back on this, remenissing about meeting at Kinko’s on Thayer street at 1 in the mornin, making prints and planning our moves…’ i already feel nostalgic… anyway the point of last night was to introduce mike and monty and get them on the same page for the photoshoot tuesday. Mike has a model coming in from boston for a side project he’s working on, and monty is going to shoot with him.

    Monty is really talented photo-manipulator, and he’s got a style influenced by gaming culture. I like it alot. We’re going to build him a website on RIart soon.

    Speaking of RIart, mike and I suspect i would take about 10 days to buld the database the way we like it. We’re still figuring out how we want to market this thing. I’m learning more towards a selected crowd of serious artists rather than a free-for-all deviantart type of deal.

    Once we finish Syko rekordz, we’re going to go back and make our own pages shine. Custom Digital Dot Net has not seen any love for months, we’ve been too busy with clients to work on our own stuff.

    Oh, My playstation 2 decided it wanted to work for me… this thing goes in and out of functioning… and i’m playing tekken 5 now. I’m am so going to OWN people at tilt now that i have it at home! I could hang and beat most of ‘em before, while they were praticing at home.. hehe this will be fun.

    Aight, i have to program some visual basic crap for school… i can’t wait to get out of computer science major. I rather hire programmers than do it myself, i should have followed my instincts and avoided a semister in this major…. soon enuyf though, summer school and a new major.

    I have a belt test tonight too… ranking for red/black belt. The last of the fire belts, i’ve been ready for this test for two months now. Its going to be c-a-k-e!

      Very nice. I’m not sure if I like the font on the animated “Windswept Montessori” part, it’s a little difficult to read. Also, “calendar” is misspelled. I like the rustic summer nature feel though, I think it is very appropriate.

      When you contract with people to make a site, do you ever agree to teach them how to maintain their sites? If so, I may have a job for you, or at least a lead.

      everyone i show this site to says they don’t think the font fits, except for the person paying me to build the site, go figure.

      i normally don’t teach people how to maintain their websites, because most of the people i deal with don’t have time for it. I’m curious though, what lead do you have in mind?

      Hahaha.. well, I guess you have to defer to the buyer on that one. :^)

      Here’s the scoop on the web project:
      A friend of mind from the lab is a retired professor who makes these amazing nature videos. He wants to get online. He wants to have a shopping cart, some video samples and stuff but no big deal. His concern is if he needs to change or update the information on the site, that he’ll be left high and dry. Let me know if you would want to help him out. He’s a great guy, and if it works out his wife is a Tai Chi instructor who also needs a site.

    12 hour work day 

    Today i skipped school to work on D&W’s website. It is finally done, after many revisions… i’m happy with it. I called Nisam today and told him it would be done, so tommrow i’ll talk to him again. One more thing to add to the site is a link to his friend’s website and then upload to his server. Then i get PAID!

    now, i’m going to sleep, cause i gotta be up earlie to show up to a bullshit visual basic lab tommrow @ 9am.

    I am so fucking tempted to skip it, but i gotta go.

    Chinatown, NYC, chillin in front of the arcade after a tournament,
    smokin a blunt with my boys at 1 in the mornin right out in the open,
    on the street…. i;m trying to get another wrap but the racist chinese
    bitch that runs the quick stop on the corner is hating on me… the
    usual.. won’t sell me something cause i’m white. They like black folk
    though, they sold ‘em to my friend wayne. Wang-ho’s is also racist,
    they don’t like nobody that isn’t asian… they toss our cups on the
    table and show no respect….
    typical of some chinese in china town… stupid behavior but whatever,
    i’ve learned to deal with it. I’ve been to chinatown NY like 15 times
    or so.. nothing new. I’m beat today, we arrived in NY around noon and
    left at 2:30am, got home around 6am. swwwwaaagggin’

    stage dreams lately, it seems my unconcious is touring around the globe, because every night for the last 3 nights the theme has been a different nationality.

    3 night ago, i was in japan, in a huge room with a hard wood floor. The walls were decorated with japanese style wooden carvings and some tapistry. The front of the room had a kameza and rack of weapons. I found a dark figured near the front of the ‘dojo’ and I had a long conversation with it. ‘It’ was a ninja of some sort, and it told me that I had passed though a door in my training. It went on to say that other’s can pass though that same door now thats it’s open for better or for worse. This was while i was waking up, and I had an intense feeling that somebody was walking around my bed, but i refused to aknowledge their presense because that would ‘let them thru the door’…

    2 nights ago, i was in the back yard of a mongolian dude’s house, and me, him, and his sister had our hands raised in the sky chanting ‘asian pride’, we were also cretiquing my friend monty’s (he’s asian too) photography, and my mongolian friend and I decided that it followed the rules of compesition very strictly.

    and last night, i had a long conversaion about how URI sucked with an indian man… after that he gave me premission to see his daughter. Previous to that converstaion his daughter was trying to convince me to get a job at the diversity house as a dish washer… the body language she was using told me she wanted me to clean her plates tho. I met these people because they got into a car cradsh with my friend nick… I also remember having various remixed images of ‘asaria’ (i think that was her name..) in photoshop done in different filters… more strangeness insued.,.

    WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!

    looks like i’m working my way east to west.. at this rate i’ll either dream about russia, or europe next.

      I’ve had some insane dreams too.

      some say dreaming is nothing more than just thoughts and that is why you forget it so easily if you do not wrote it down or try hard to remember it.

      Hey were was I in these asian dreams heh

      but then again they can mean something.

    get this 

    I quit my job today as a network administrator.

    I’m thinkging to myself.. I want to go to japan for a semister, but i can’t go anywhere working @ this job. PLUS 2 year in network administraion training is enough to crack anyone who’s not boutitboutit and i’m not. I don’t wanna do that for a profession! Fuck that, lots of stress and no thanks for long hours and soul-sucking work in an office fixing problem for people who keep digging the same holes, and keep falling into the same pits.

    I was rehired in the same conversation to be a graphic designer.

    Go figure,

    So now my current task is to make flash commercials for the plasma screen televion in the memorial union. hehe :) There will be one coming out soon for ramtour, there is a trip to the bronx zoo coming up.

    same pay, same hours… i went from getting repremanded for using photoshop to getting paid for it. My boss is a smart lady, she is turning my negitive work related habit (using photoshop) into a productive activity. ;)

    oh and the windswept montessori project is a greenlight, i was paid half up front so production is underway. I have a really nice interface designed, and I found the competition. The woman who commissioned me, linda benvenutti, is a cool lady. We chatted for a while and shared life stories, and she’s has pegged me as a ‘artist/entrepreneur’ i don’t consider myself and artists tho, but i like the compliment :) . Anyway i told h er the prototype for the main page will be done in 3 weeks time.

    DW tool made contact with me again, we’re at the point where the page is finished* and all we gotta do is add a link and post the sucker. I put a * there because his son, Shae, call me today to set up meeting. I hope this goes smooth, but i have a gut feeling that they are going to want some kind of revision. That a $500 dollar job that, if i invenst anymore time into, is going to put my hourly rate waaay down. I need the loot tho, so…..

    Syko Rekordz is coming nice, we redid the photoshop AGAIN because phokus didn’t like the wya he was protrayed. I learned that its a great idea to let the people you work for PICK OUT the pictures THEY like. Simple enuf, but we overlooked that one. Fearon also said that he wants to cut us a check for all our hard work. Interesting thing is that we had the syko rekordz site appraised by a professional web designer (the guy that owns Netsense in wakefield) and he said that it is worth $3000. Of course, we don’t expect to get that kind of money at all, these dudes are not rich. However, with that kinda feedback we got a good idea of what we’re dealing with. I want mike to ask fearon of a $1000 deposit, and perhapse another 500 when we are finished. We’ll throw in the hosting too with a couple of free updates for that price. Dude is making out like a bandit in this deal, he’s got a shopping cart system set up too where he doesn’t have to pay OR ship any of the shirts and hoodies he has. He sits back and collect checks, because your boy paul erikson @ yourmerch.com takes care of all of that and gets his cut. (www.yourmerch.com)

    So if everyone decides its a good day to pay nate (nathan) all the money they owe him in one check, i would be looking at about a grand… and i need it cause i’ve been broke as a joke since that vacation to spain. I have confidence that i’m at the poitn where i’ve paid lots of dues, and i should be seeing some real chedder cheese coming in soon enough. But until then, hehe, fuck me in the goat ass while i try to hustle this shit and keep myself and people around me inspired. to those haters out there, and those other crappy web sites designer and commercial makers producing that GARBAGE, A.D.D., coporate-market-researched junk, i’m on your ass with some next-generation stuff and a crew with lots of potential. It’s just a matter of time now…

    I make my own luck.
