I just rule at life

On saturday bronwyn and I went to Mass to go see System of a Down and Mars Volta. The show kicked ass! Mars was kinda out of their element if u ask me, and i think if i smoked a lot of weed before i saw their set it would have been much more enjoyable… i don’t know what they were thinking opening up for a metal crowd.
System rocked; they muyst have played for an hour and a half… i have not heard any of their older stuff until this night. I was really impressed, and i was going nuts most of the time. My voice was shot the next day.
Sunday was alriht, playued a lot of warcraft. My mage, KatiekaBOOM, is level 11. She is awesome… such a cute, and innocent face for a future goblin-engineering pyro. Lots of fun! I have not played Kosstanada in a while (tauren shammy) he’s at level 29 on dragonmaw. As for my rogue, lvl 34 on bloodscalp, she is almost out of rested bonus, so i have her parked at the inn in southshore. I have soo many WoW charecters, although i only play a handful.
Today, monday, i’m sitting at work. Lisa is on vacation for a week, so i don’t have to deal with her crazy tasks for a while! I’ll end up working on more of the WDG stuff, and probablyu a GAU redesign in a near future.
I’m looking foward to working at chaffee this semister. Video editing is something i have been looking for an excuse to learn. I think good editing makes or breaks a film, an i have a lot of idea I want to play with, especially in the video game scene. Seems liek a good place to test out some theories. I have a few as to how to make watching matches more interesting… very simple: commentary! And yet, in the states, it has not been done. I bet Korean’s have done it, since they are very serious about their gaming. I read that some professional gamers over there make as much as $100k a year!

After taking along blog break, i think i’ll start up again.
To catch up:
Over this summer semister, I grabbed a job at the WDG (web design group) at Tyler Hall, URI. I worked under Lisa Chen. There were conflicts between her and I over web design styles. Without getting into specificts, lets just say we didn’t see eye to eye. So, I went over the Chaffee and talked to Roy in the Journalism lab. He remembered me from Spring semister, and was impressed with my interview then. Now, he says he’s got a place for me working in the lab as a monitor, and with the STA (student teaching assistant).
What do I get out of thiS? Well other than a pathetic paycheck (i don’t even care what they pay me) I have access to the Avid video editing equipment 15 hours or so a week. This is big for me, since i feel the next thing i REALLY want to learn about with computer is video editing. I can edit now, but I want to have it down like photoshop.
So, after Roy hired me, and said i could start the first day of school, I put in my notice at WDG. My last day there will be the 6th.
As far as my own web design business goes, there has been some changes:
1) Custom Digital LLC is dead. My partner in this decided his schedule was too busy, and left the entire company up to me. Instead of trying to keep up with all the legal shit that goes along with an LLC, I talked to the IRS (who are amazingly helpful and friendly) and canned the whole thing before it lifted off the ground.
Long now have i known that a sole-propritership is the way to go, and now i’m following my own advice.
2) I went to Las Vegas again for evolution 2005. It was a blast, and I can’t wait to go back again. We staid at the Green Valley Ranch Hotel… it was like a small town there! So now that i’m back, i have to focus on making money again.. because Vegas drained my bank account as usual. No regrets about that
.
3) This semister, and quite likely the first half of this semister, is my LAST fling with college for a while. Bronwyn is moving away to medical school next semister and I plan on moving with her. As to where we’re going, I don’t know yet. It could be Boston, New Hampshire, New Orleans, etc… All i do know is that i’ll be moving out of RI within a year. Life as an adult will begin…. About fucking time. I do plan on continuing my education in the future, but for now, I want to get more serious about running my business. This is what I want.
