I quit my job today as a network administrator.

I’m thinkging to myself.. I want to go to japan for a semister, but i can’t go anywhere working @ this job. PLUS 2 year in network administraion training is enough to crack anyone who’s not boutitboutit and i’m not. I don’t wanna do that for a profession! Fuck that, lots of stress and no thanks for long hours and soul-sucking work in an office fixing problem for people who keep digging the same holes, and keep falling into the same pits.

I was rehired in the same conversation to be a graphic designer.

So now my current task is to make flash commercials for the plasma screen televion in the memorial union. hehe There will be one coming out soon for ramtour, there is a trip to the bronx zoo coming up.

same pay, same hours… i went from getting repremanded for using photoshop to getting paid for it. My boss is a smart lady, she is turning my negitive work related habit (using photoshop) into a productive activity.

oh and the windswept montessori project is a greenlight, i was paid half up front so production is underway. I have a really nice interface designed, and I found the competition. The woman who commissioned me, linda benvenutti, is a cool lady. We chatted for a while and shared life stories, and she’s has pegged me as a ‘artist/entrepreneur’ i don’t consider myself and artists tho, but i like the compliment . Anyway i told h er the prototype for the main page will be done in 3 weeks time.

DW tool made contact with me again, we’re at the point where the page is finished* and all we gotta do is add a link and post the sucker. I put a * there because his son, Shae, call me today to set up meeting. I hope this goes smooth, but i have a gut feeling that they are going to want some kind of revision. That a $500 dollar job that, if i invenst anymore time into, is going to put my hourly rate waaay down. I need the loot tho, so…..

Syko Rekordz is coming nice, we redid the photoshop AGAIN because phokus didn’t like the wya he was protrayed. I learned that its a great idea to let the people you work for PICK OUT the pictures THEY like. Simple enuf, but we overlooked that one. Fearon also said that he wants to cut us a check for all our hard work. Interesting thing is that we had the syko rekordz site appraised by a professional web designer (the guy that owns Netsense in wakefield) and he said that it is worth $3000. Of course, we don’t expect to get that kind of money at all, these dudes are not rich. However, with that kinda feedback we got a good idea of what we’re dealing with. I want mike to ask fearon of a $1000 deposit, and perhapse another 500 when we are finished. We’ll throw in the hosting too with a couple of free updates for that price. Dude is making out like a bandit in this deal, he’s got a shopping cart system set up too where he doesn’t have to pay OR ship any of the shirts and hoodies he has. So if everyone decides its a good day to pay nate (nathan) all the money they owe him in one check, i would be looking at about a grand… and i need it cause i’ve been broke as a joke since that vacation to spain. I have confidence that i’m at the poitn where i’ve paid lots of dues, and i should be seeing some real chedder cheese coming in soon enough. But until then, hehe, fuck me in the goat ass while i try to hustle this shit and keep myself and people around me inspired. to those haters out there, and those other crappy web sites designer and commercial makers producing that GARBAGE, A.D.D., coporate-market-researched junk, i’m on your ass with some next-generation stuff and a crew with lots of potential. It’s just a matter of time now…
