Also things such as git often requires someone at the root level to do the initial setup, not being familiar with git I can't say if that's true. Anyway if you'll open a ticket and reference this, I'll yum install git on the server you're on and if that's all it takes I see no reason we can't put it on the shared environment, if it requires more than that then most likely it won't happen.
